After the draft is finalized, the council will recommend approval from the foundation, and the proposal moves to an official governance vote where DAO members can cast their votes
Finalization & Voting
The pip-voting forum serves as the final community discussion space before the vote concludes. The council creates this dedicated forum thread during the active voting period to facilitate last-minute questions, clarifications, and discussions about the proposal.
Vote Execution
Once your draft receives approval to proceed to voting:
The proposal is locked and uploaded to the governance platform
A voting period is scheduled (typically 14 days)
No further edits or modifications are permitted
π¨ Important: Once voting begins, your proposal cannot be changed. Ensure all revisions are complete during the draft phase.
Best Practices for PIP Success
Write for Clarity
Assume no prior knowledge - Explain all concepts, acronyms, and technical terms.
Be comprehensive yet concise - Include all necessary information without unnecessary length.
Use clear structure - Organize with headers, bullet points, and logical flow.
Make a Compelling Case
Explain the problem clearly - Why does this issue need addressing?
Highlight the benefits - What value does your proposal bring to Star Atlas and the DAO?
Address potential concerns - Anticipate questions and provide answers upfront.
Balance Your Proposal
Align request with value - Ensure what you're asking for matches what you're delivering.
Consider resource requirements - Be realistic about time, funds, and effort needed.
Define success metrics - How will the community know if your proposal succeeded?
