I want to be a part of helping create a new type of governance structure. A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is, in my opinion, a very elegant way to govern. I believe in personal responsibility and individual rights. I also believe in the power of the collective as well as non compelled altruism. Empowering people but also having wise leadership. Rules but no ruler. With my decades of IRL experience in governance, entrepreneurship, mentorship and altruism, I think I could bring valuable input to the DAO to help shape its future.
I want to be a part of a ground breaking form of governance.
Being a part of helping to continue creating a new type of governance structure.
"Influence", no. Being a unified voice of the collective that can give input, that can be used (or not) by the team, yes.
Implement a set of values, mission statement, code of conduct, rules of governance, etc.
Creating the structure above, growing the user base and retaining the user base
I have been a casual gamer for 23+ years and involved with SA since just after the posters. Over the last 24 years I have served several times as the president and board member of our local NAHB (national association of homebuilders), 2 different boards for the local school system, to many committees to list, the volunteer construction manager for our local Habitat For Humanity for 19 years, changed city code several times, President (+/- 6 years) and several other positions on our downtown association (15 years total). I don't have and DAO experience but did create an HOA for one of my real-estate developments.

Experienced Leadership | Community Bridge | Governance Pioneer
Active Star Atlas community member since September 2021 and founding member of the inaugural Star Atlas DAO Council. Throughout my first term, I contributed to establishing crucial governance infrastructure and standardizing PIP processes while maintaining a consistent attendance record at Council meetings.
As a prominent voice in the Hispanic community, I regularly provide updates and facilitate discussions at Spanish Atlas Brew events, ensuring inclusive governance that spans language barriers and broadens participation across our diverse ecosystem
My commitment to transparency, consistent engagement, and cross-cultural outreach positions me to continue strengthening our DAO's foundation while expanding its global reach in a second term
🗳️ Vote for continued dedication and experienced leadership.
I am a strong supporter of Web 3 and decentralization. Having served on the first council, I still have much more to contribute to helping the Star Atlas DAO evolve and grow.
I am excited to see the community empower itself and the DAO slowly become Star Atlas' soul.
The Council already has a big task. At this stage, we are better off investing our time and resources in empowering the community than trying to influence ATMTA regarding their plans. The DAO will have a significant role in development and the economy in the future, but council members will not necessarily guide that process.
The infrastructure of this DAO is so new that we are limited in what we can do right now. The DAO will progress and evolve, and the council and the foundation will grow with it. The process will require the DAO to expand, acquire new responsibilities, and eventually hire DAO employees to expand the influence and tools available for this entity. Much of these actions will require a robust income for the DAO to ensure the funds are spent efficiently and maintain growth.
The three biggest priorities of the DAO are:
Supporting and empowering the community. The DAO is the community.
Find ways to keep as much engagement as possible from the community and stakeholders.
Build a solid base regarding processes and resources available for the upcoming councils and future leaders to keep building on top of. This is a low but steady process, and as the market, technology, and the game advances, the DAO needs to be at the forefront of the innovation.
I'm 46 years old and have been a gamer all my life. In more recent times, I have been part of different MMO communities and led several groups of people, and I understand that the most important feature of any game is its community. Self-custody, ownership, and decentralization will merge perfectly with gaming. As long as the fundamentals are strong, a community has unlimited power to contribute and join the process. I have been a member of this community from the beginning, and we have been together during good and not-so-good times. During my experience in this community and the first term of the council, I have come to realize the amount of talent present in our community, and I see that talent is impacting this project positively. We need members who are passionate and willing to work to achieve this project's ambitious goals.

Gaming is a multibillion-dollar industry. Once successful projects like Star Atlas demonstrate the concept of actual ownership and decentralization and attract the attention of the gaming world; I'm confident that gaming and crypto technology will complement each other perfectly. The potential is extremely big, and crypto technology is advancing fast. Very soon, the barriers currently present will start to disappear, and the avalanche of excitement, innovation, and investment will change gaming as we know it.
I am completely devoted to this project and am not aware of any conflicts of interest.

Create an organized infrastructure between the indie DEVs, DAO and the players. Where players could influence the development of the needed tools, while the indie DEVs can receive substantial financial rewards.
Make DAO work by making the interaction players more accessible and simple. From casual "I want this and this" to a prepared assignment specification to a vote and a release of the idea.
Find new ways for players and the Star Atlas project to profit. This is the goal.
I want to get things done. I feel that there could have been a lot more things done to grow and expand Star Atlas.
I am interested in helping people. I will represent the interest of the players who believed and support me, as well as lay the course for those who did not.
I feel like this is a deal breaker question here? As a game dev, I had negative experience giving the power to the players, it turned out a mess and I lost those same players who went to play with my competitors after all the changes they asked for (and which competitors had already). However, it is also wise to listen to some, but i think in general it is the dev who should be putting their piece of soul into the game, and if players love the universe that it's a success, small changes could be done if players asked, but general course should be layed by the developer.
It's currently fine at this stage. However, perhaps I best described it in the three biggest priorities below
Current problem is that player do not interact with the DAO. There is a certain regulations, format, which makes it difficult for them to create new PIPs. This can be solved by AI I am currently making for SA, which would allow players to put their ideas into set format and assist them with expanding their idea.
Players do not believe in DAO. During public meetings almost no ones comes. This could be solved perhaps when DAO pushes some things which players do care about, although it's heavily rooted with the development. There is some power to be gained with the private contractors, where the players actually go to. I think it would be wise to connect these devs with the DAO. Sly for example, if the deal is striked with SLY or ATOM, which would make them work closely with DAO, this way DAO votes could influence these tools and bring more trust and interest in DAO from the players.
I managed my own gaming community with over 1000 members, I made rules (very good thorough, with no loop holes). I had to respond from dozens to hundreds of people daily, which I still do, including on the Star Atlas.

There will be more new projects over the 5 years, but I think there is a long road ahead before something like Ready Player One pops out, in terms of money making gaming.

Star Atlas blends my favorite games, FreeAllegiance (Microsoft) & PlanetSide 2 (Sony), and embodies web3's best: welcoming, scale, open development, integrated. I'm heavily invested in SA and aim to enhance the DAO by expanding its knowledge base, simplifying participation, and meeting community needs.
* Gaming Experience: Published mini-games (ranked 7th of 682), co-founded community-led tournament/broadcasting orgs (130+ volunteer staff that broke Guinness World Record), and senior leadership of 10K+ member guilds.
* Professional: 13+ years in contract/proposal work, software program management of $5B-dollar aircraft fleet, PMP cert, Six Sigma, Masters degree in Acquisitions, DAO Certified by Blockchain Council.
* Web3/DAO: 10+ years in web3, active in 8 DAOs, authored 9 proposals, passionate about DAOs as a fusion of business, leadership, community, and gaming.
As a CLUB, BULK, and SuperPheonix DAO member with 5M PVP, I'm dedicated to Star Atlas’s success. I offer proven leadership, web3 expertise, game experience, and contract/proposal skill. I ask for your vote on the Star Atlas Council.
I want to contribute to the community, and I have put a lot of time into understanding (SANDDAO Podcast) & participating in DAOs (Sandbox, ApeCoin, Squiggle, WHALE, Moca, others) to the point where I can be value added to SA.
Working at the governance level to iteratively develop DAO artifacts (org charts, ecosystem diagrams, process flow charts)...I'm a nerd for data and organizational management
Yes, but we need to pay careful attention to conflicts of interest, unfair competitive advantages, and collusion/corruption. Rules should make it a cultural norm to have a fair and open
Add more artifact visuals to the introduction & learn-more channels, and the wiki. SA already has a REALLY good wiki and Discord community, but they feel separate. The text is actually really sharp and succinct, I think it needs an extra push to make the text come to life. It wasn't obvious to me to connect to the other discords like buy-sell-trade, and reading through POLIS/ATLAS locker took me a few tries while clicking around govern.StarAtlas.com. Visual artifacts not only speed that along, it reduces confusion and fear/anxiety from spending that extra SOL to convert to POLIS because I know the expected result. It's already SO CLOSE! :)
Iterating on the governance ideals set forth by the first Council, like the PIP office hours. I want to host PIP-writing workshops, which is consistent with my professional background.
Building the community's DAO knowledgebase. I want to host inter-DAC panels on how we think about conflicts of interest, how do we feel about delegates, or people in positions of authority submitting PIP (like Council members)?
Building out more of the DAO visual artifacts, like organization charts, PIP flow charts, and SA ecosystem diagrams. I feel strongly that the more you can visually depict your organization, the better people can understand it and then choose to take part in it.
Been in web3 for 10 years. Been gaming since I was a kid. Mario, Super Smash Bros, Starcraft, FreeAllegiance by Microsoft, World of Tanks, DOTA, PlanetSide 2 by Sony. I cofounded a gamer-led organization (PlanetSide Battles) in 2013-ish that put together 70 tournament matches (think Galia Cup) for 500 players weekly, we had a volunteer staff of 100+, and we organized the Guinness World Record break in 2015 of 1K+ players gaming all at once. This organization still exists today.
I own my own publishing business, I publish music to iTunes, novels to Amazon, and mini-games to Sandbox (think Minecraft metaverse). One of my mini-games (Floor Droppers) for Sandbox placed 7th of 682 and made it to Sandbox's version of the Super Bowl (Alpha Season 4).

Easier onboarding and huge adoption at the mass consumer level. We need to be ready to receive them, onboard them with as little friction as possible, and give them every reason to be motivated to participate in the Star Atlas ecosystem.
I am very heavily invested in the Sandbox Game, owned by Animoca Brands. I have concluded 60 episodes of SANDDAO Podcast, the last few were a mini-series into Foundation Companies in the Grand Cayman Islands. Episode 59 featured two practicing Cayman Island lawyers from Walkers Global, whom I found after reading an article on their website. Walkers Global represents Star Atlas Foundation.

I am looking forward to continuing to work with the community in creating a robust governance platform and helping to make Star Atlas successful regardless of the outcome of this election
I am interested in helping to set up a strong governance system that will stand the test of time partly so that I can find ways to apply the dao structure to real world politics.
helping set up a solid governance structure, going to be working on this regardless of if I win the election of course
eventually, not sure if the dao is ready to do that yet
We need to pin down more of the governance aspects, the first term was about getting the back end structure set up, this next term needs to start focusing on creating the format that were going to need if we want the dao to eventually hold the ip
getting a more streamlined way to set up funding requests for example giving templates that are for the respective types of requests as meet up requests have very different needs and time requirements then requests for funding community tools, also perhaps a reduced voting time on meetups that are directly connected to other events to expedite making sure they know if they have funding or not
finding a way to make sure we have usdc (or other stable coin should the usd not remain stable) income so that its not always up to whomever is getting funding, the foundation when they need to get paid etc to swap atlas for usdc, another option would be to have a more diverse portfolio so its not always atlas getting dumped to transfer to usdc when we need to pay people outside of the ecosystem
gaming: I have been playing mmos for a long time including games like entropia before bc gaming was avalible, been active in the local gaming convention scene that helped me get the ideas and baseline for my own company (on hold because of legal stuff with the state, but most of the ogs know about that already)
politics - I have been active in marxist leninist organizing for a long time and have studied various governance structures and ways to help the masses become more independent financially and star atlas is in a position to help legitimize ways to expand access to necessary financial services
outside of sa I have had no real experience with daos directly however the concept behind them is directly related to helping get more people access to political, financial, legal resources that they would need to emancipate themselves from tradfi

as crypto matures the inherent volatility of the market is going to decrease and more legitimate projects are going to start happening that should create a feeling of security for the more traditional gaming and finance markets especially as the traditional markets decay and the aaa studios continue to destroy themselves
I have my own Web3 companies; however, the odds of that being something that will take off in the next 9 months is rather low.

The Star Atlas DAO needs passion, fire, and engagement now more than ever. The industry needs this now more than ever. If we don’t fight right now today to create value for POLIS, the DAO, and the broader Star Atlas ecosystem, there may be nothing to fight for later. Energy, passion, innovation, and deep experience with Star Atlas is what I bring to the table. With the right partners, that could be enough to change history and do something really incredible here. LFG.
Someone needs to be the fire that drives the steam engine of governance. The idea guy, the conversation starter, the person who gets people galvanized, excited, and interested. That feels like a missing spice in the current soup. Let’s make governance fun again and accomplish some really cool and memorable milestones and moments.
I love playing devils advocate. Seeing things from a thousand angles and talking about them. I’m the perfect guy to brainstorm and plan a PIP with.
Absolutely. Maybe that’s not yet given today, but the defining white paper for Star Atlas says that ALL OF THIS ultimately belongs to the POLIS holders and the DAO. Part of my job is to always advocate for their rights, freedoms, and powers to ensure that the full vision of Star Atlas takes form. Not just for the project but for its people and community. I’m a huge and aggressive advocate for protecting and defending the rights of the DAO and POLIS holders. The token can’t go up, if we can’t put value and significance and meaning behind it. That’s a sacred obligation and responsibility. To add value to the DAO, and by extension POLIS
Longer council terms, more PIPs that grant low recurring operating budgets to get things done faster and easier to deliver more value to the voters and ecosystem. Streamlining PIPs to make them super easy to create.
Relevance, token value, and voter apathy. We need to make POLIS great again, and build an operation that people can believe in and get behind with real value. Or the token will keep dropping and so will attendance, engagement, and value for stakeholders.
Roughly 10 years of experience now running a variety of profit and loss operations up to 65M a year in revenue. One of the most active Discord members in the history of Star Atlas, all of my liquid net worth tied up in this project for many years now and growing.

The future of Web 3 gaming is being fought for right now and here in this project, and indirectly its governance ecosystem and DAO. We have to fight now, or there’s no future to worry about.

My name is Bodhi
I am a long time supporter of SA, I've have been active in game and within the community for over three years. As a current council member, I'll be able to facilitate the transition to the new term. I believe in a conservative approach when it comes to DAO spending, and would like to see quality over quantity in pips. That said, I am unbiased when facilitating authors through the pip process. As a second term council member, my focus will be on Three main aspects:
1. Marketing the DAO through social media.
2. Fostering community engagement by contributing to an encouraging, and interactive environment.
3. facilitating the transition to the second council term.
I enjoy working with community authors to improve their pips. I'm able to foster friendships, while helping them optimize their proposal, and add value to the project. It's the best part of the job, and I hope to continue doing it. I put my trust in Star Atlas, and appreciate your trust in me to serve on council.
I would like to bring my experience serving on the DAO to the second term, and continue assisting it's development.
I'm most excited to work with authors, and help facilitate them through the pip process. I'm also looking forward to being a part of the transition from the first council to the second.
no, the council should simply facilitate the growth of the DAO. That said, once the DAO is able to affect the game development / economy, the council will have an important role to play.
There is room for improvement in multiple areas. In order of Importance:
The foundation needs to be more accessible to the council, some aspects-like third party app account management that the council requires-need foundation administration, that type of collaboration needs to be efficient in order to maximize the councils potential.
Once the council has access to these applications, the council will be able to more effectively market the DAO.
I believe an internal to-do list for the council will come in handy.
marketing, fostering engagement, management of funds.
Marketing - create social media presence, post updates to the DAO's progress including pips, upcoming DAO related events, and developments.
Fostering engagement - create a code of conduct that clearly outlines the ways in which council is expected to interact with the broader community, the focus should be on maximizing engagement.
management of funds - maintaining asset reserves is critical for long term success. i believe a conservative approach is important at this stage. establishing a strong foundation before spending significant portions of limited DAO funds will help ensure that we aren't over extending ourselves.
I play star atlas full time among other crypto related games.
The majority of my governance experience comes from participating in the SA DAO.
I am currently sitting on the SA council, and have a high degree of knowledge / experience when it comes to this DAO in particular. I've been privy to nearly every development thus far, and have contributed in part to most aspects of the DAO's progress during the first term.

I see Web3 gaming becoming commonplace in ~3-4 years. I suspect the focus within the gaming space in general will begin to shift towards Web3 games around that time. Projects that have had sufficient time to create a great game, while introducing compelling economic incentives will begin to become popular and competitive
I am currently on the council which increases my chances of getting reelected.
I have significant exposure within Star Atlas that I could hypothetically leverage, and benefit from. This would only happen in the event the DAO becomes able to affect economic conditions within the game during the second term. As of now, the DAO has no control over SA economics, so this is not currently possible.
